Sustainable Development Goals Accord (SDG Accord)
In 2015 the United Nations Member States adopted 17 ambitious goals (UNSDGs) as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The SDG Accord is a statement of support for the UNSDGs by higher education institutions around the world. Signatories commit to integrating the SDGs in their campus activities as well as to supporting local and global initiatives.
ASU President, Brendan MacNeil, signed the SDG Accord on behalf of students in 2019 and Dr. Peter Ricketts, President and Vice-Chancellor of Acadia University signed in 2021 on behalf of the institution. Learn more about the Sustainable Development Goals at Acadia.
Next steps for the ASU are to prioritise the goals and identify new initiatives that help achieve the global goals for a sustainable future for all.
